Just another solid pattern that you can tie up in almost any color and match it with a cone head and you have a great streamer to toss at trout, bass, pike. I like this pattern for Fall Browns that have the feed bags on. This pattern is shown in one color but you can mix it up for a two tone look if you wanted.
How to tie the Cone head Zonker leech
Step 1: Set up
Insert hook into cone head and set in vise.
Step 2: Start
Start your Thread and wrap back to just above the hook point
Step 3: Measure Zonker strip
Select your Zonker strip and measure out a hook length portion.
Step 4: Tie in
Part the hairs of the fur at this point and and tie in to your hook. Tip: wet your fingers when splitting the hair and it will be easier.
Step 5: Move forward
Wrap thread forward and get it as far into the cone as you can.
Step 6: Palmer
Palmer Zonker strip forward to the cone taking care no to tie in hairs as you go. Tip: Wet your fingers down as you go to help control the hairs. Give a few extra wraps into the cone overlapping to take up space inside the cone itself so there is no gap.
Step 7: Finish
Tie off with a whip finish or half hitches, cut tag end and cast away!
