Hellgrammite flies are a fall fly fishermen's secret weapon, for both Bass and Trout. These large aquatic larvae pack a protien punch. This fly is simple to tie and serves as an irresistible offering to large predatory fish preparing for the winter. The tail on this fly provides the necessary realism, without sacrificing on bulk and buoyancy, so this fly gets down quick and stays close to the bottom. It is a great anchor for nymphing, or can jigged on a floating line.
